You will form a critical part of our Professional Services delivery organization. You'll provide remote services to our customers, covering the entire product portfolio (including NGINX) over a variety of environments, including private and public cloud, and enterprise data centers.

You should expect to perform recurring engagements where our customers require regular consulting resource, along with one-time engagements. These engagements may come in the form of greenfield design and configuration, software upgrades and operations management tasks. You will also need to handle multiple tasks in parallel, and accurately follow documented processes and procedures, as well as using your initiative to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

We expect you to be an independent self-starter, to work under limited instructions on routine work. You should be capable of building strong internal/external relationships within a team environment and able to demonstrate analytical thinking, along with attention to detail.

You will get exposure to our global customers; as such, reading, writing and speaking English fluently is required, especially the ability to articulate technical concepts and terminology to many different audiences with varying knowledge levels.

As a member of the Global Consulting team you will have access to industry-leading training facilities, hands-on labs and an interface into a wealth of information through our Subject Matter Expert groups. If there’s a required technology where you have limited exposure to, or simply want a more detailed understanding of, we have the resources to provide the knowledge.


What will you do?

To be successful in our Consulting team, you will perform and be proficient in the following:
Deliver remote technical services to our customers.Proactively and effectively communicate with both local and global Consulting teams and Professional Services Coordinators.Maintain a level of proficiency of F5 products and technologies, through self-directed and formal training.Be proactive and identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, documentation and skills.Collaborate with your F5 colleagues when required.Study hard to obtain and maintain F5 Certifications.And most importantly, keep our customers satisfied, through demonstrating strong technical knowledge and great communication

Things you should know:

As an Associate Consultant, you will have strong knowledge base in the following areas:

OSI model (layers 1 through 7)Working knowledge in TCP/IP networking and routing, services such as DNS, SMTP, and HTTP, *nix environment, switches, routers and firewalls in enterprise environments.Demonstrate an understanding of technologies such as firewalling, application availability and security, web gateways, authentication/authorization, encryption, VPN’s and network architectureExperience with application level switching and web technologies such as web application firewalls and caching/compression. Familiarity or hands-on experience with F5 LTM/DNS (GTM)L7 WAF and related security conceptsMust be self-motivated and flexible.Demonstrated strong written communication, presentation writing, and technical documentation skills.

Although not required, having some knowledge and experience on the following would be an advantage:
Linux container and controller environments, such as Docker, LXC and KubernetesLinux scripting in Bash and, Perl.Coding in HTML, Python, PHP or similar languages.HTTP, HTML, XML, JSON, AJAX, and JavaScript, RESTful APIAzure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware NSX/ESX, Cisco ACI

Language Requirements

You must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, and understand technical concepts and terminology.

How do you qualify?
2+ years minimum experience in a support, call center environment or similar work experienceBA/BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

The following qualifications would be desirable:

F5 101 and 201 certifications are a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Your duties will be performed in a normal office environment, while sitting at a desk or computer table. You’ll be using a computer, presenting over the telephone via headset, and reading printed material daily.
In some cases, work hours will correspond to our customers schedule, so the role may require work outside of core business hours, including early mornings, late evenings, overnight, weekends and/or public holidays. We’ll need you to be flexible.
Occasional travel may be required (5-10% of work time) and prepare to work different shifts such as a 10am-6pm/CST time frame.
