Content influences (BIG TIME) how consumers feel about the companies they’ve entrusted to handle their money. Content at Bill.com is a big responsibility, and there’s an opportunity to do something purposeful and impactful—for millions of business customers. We’re looking for equal parts Content Strategist and Writer who feels right at home immersed in content audits and recommendations, with strong writing chops, to boot. 

As a Content Strategist & Writer, you'll be fundamental to our product communication process. You'll join a team dedicated to changing how small and midsize businesses do business today. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, legal, and designers to help ensure a cohesive language experience across all our product communication touch points including emails, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging


You’re a shoo-in for this role if you...
  • Have 5+ years of end-to-end content strategy experience including auditing, optimizing, writing, and delivery for product communications; includes defining and executing communications preferences.
  • Can successfully navigate and collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders without batting an eyelash.
  • Are a pro at conducting content audits and making recommendations.
  • Can write copy that’s on brand, gets attention, and elicits emotion and action.
  • Can help shape and evangelize content standards that guide others to create content for Bill.com products.
  • Live and breathe A/B testing, experimentation, and analysis.
  • Responsibilities and outcomes:
  • Partner with product managers and designers to create a holistic mapping of all our product emails, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messages by domain.
  • Identify when and how the communications are triggered.
  • Gather metrics like open rates, unsubscribe rates, bounce rates, etc.
  • Navigate our internal ecosystem and partner with various org functions. 
  • Dive in to write content.
  • Get recommendations and content vetted through and approved by all org functions including product, dev, legal, and product design.
  • Deliver content assets for release.
  • Categorize and standardize emails and other communication; identify which are transactional, informational, etc. 
  • Create content best practices and define our approach for our product communications including subject lines, preheaders, email structure and design, headlines, character counts, and more.
