About the role
As the Lead Back-end Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, development and documentation of Q-CTRL’s APIs and associated microservices and client libraries.
You will be leading a team of Software Engineers towards efficiency and its ability to grow scalable software. This role is crucial in maintaining Q-CTRL’s reputation in the industry as a quality product.
You will be mainly responsible for the architecture and consulting on new product features, be the final stamp of approval for software quality assurance , mentoring and managing the Back-end Engineering team as well as product features hands-on development.
What you'll do:
Architecting building and documenting the Q-CTRL API, Q-CTRL Worker and Q-CTRL API Client LibrariesDeciding HOW features are built: decide on the best tech stack for Q-CTRL’s solutions and it’s approachDeciding WHO will build features: know your team’s strengths/weaknesses and distribute work accordingly.Review all back-end code via pull requestsEstablishing and maintaining efficient team processes: showing increased velocity and reducing technical debtDefining , documenting, advocating and enforcing best-practice architectural and development standards within the Back-end Engineering teamFollowing Scrum methodology and Gitflow processes - and be an advocate for themConsulting with the Product team, advising for a product strategy perspective and help deciding what to build. Communicating with the DevOps team on the required hardware to support upcoming projects/usageConsulting with the Quantum Product Engineering team to identify requirements for each new featureCommunicating with the Front-end Engineering team on new API capabilitiesReporting back to the Head of Platform Engineering on technical debt and concerns / other technological advancement
