The Associate Director, Market Access and Government Affairs, Mexico is responsible to define and execute the Government Affairs & Market Access strategies for Mexico of all Ultragenyx products. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Government Affairs and Market Access plans in Mexican market, working in conjunction with the General Manager (GM), Medical Affairs Latam team and Director, Government Affairs and Market Access LATAM. The Associate Director, Market Access and Government Affairs, Mexico will get support from the Director, Government Affairs and Market Access LATAM for the preparation of reimbursement dossiers 
Responsibilities
  • Build and execute the market access and government affairs strategies for Ultragenyx products in Mexico
  • Lead the development and presentation of national, and institutional reimbursement dossiers for Ultragenyx products
  • Work with external market access consultants to develop dossiers, budget impact analysis, pharmacoeconomic evaluations, innovative market access models, systematic literature reviews, and any other need.
  • Identify Key Stakeholders, in Mexico that oversee and Pricing and Reimbursement decisions
  • Represent Ultragenyx Mexico in ISPOR and other relevant Government Affairs and Market Access Venues
  • Lead effective legislative analysis, strategy development, and coalition building to support Ultragenyx policy objectives and business goals in Mexico.
  • Monitor Orphan Drugs Landscape at legislative policy level and collaborate with other functional areas, to support Ultragenyx policy and political positioning in Mexico .
  • Build relationships with key patients’ advocacy umbrella groups and work close with NGO and Patient Program representatives’ within Ultragenyx community.
  • Lead relationships with key industry groups and associations in partnership with GMs.
  •   Identify routes to strengthening relationships from a government affairs perspective as well as legislative advocacy initiatives.
  • Define the LATAM P&R strategy, i.e.:
  • o   Define appropriate price, within Globally approved pricing corridor, to maximize patient access and company sustainability
  • o   Define implementation plan of the above strategy: submission sequence, develop appropriate HTA models, oversee preparation of P&R dossiers (managing vendors as appropriate)
  • Requirements
  • Economic or life sciences background
  • 5 years of experience in country market access role, in high value specialty therapeutic areas. Senior Managers are encouraged to apply.
  • Orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Proven success record in General Health Council dossier approvals and inclusions in main government institutions
  • Ideally, personal experience in negotiating with payers in Mexico
  • Strong business acumen, allowing the successful candidate to understand business drivers for individual products and translate them into solid value propositions
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, allowing the candidate to be effective in working with affiliates, global peers and Senior Management team members.
  • Fluency in English
  • Cultural fit, understanding the uniqueness of Ultragenyx approach to market access.
  • The position will be based in Mexico City
