About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer passionate about building the future of real estate transactions.  At Opendoor we handle billions of dollars of home sales every year, and our team is working on visionary tools to facilitate these transactions in a more low-cost and painless way than ever before possible.  Every engineer at Opendoor has an outsized impact, conceiving and owning their projects in an innovative new problem space, reaching tens of thousands of customers every month and growing quickly with the pioneering origin company of a rapidly evolving new business sector.

Specifically, you will be helping us build and support the apps that our internal customers use across numerous workflows. You'll work on initiatives to add new functionality to our apps, improve usability, and improve testing. You’re going to be bringing in your mobile expertise to our team, and you understand the native performance challenges of developing for mobile platform.

Role/Responsibilities Include:
  • Experience building scalable React Native apps
  • Cross functional collaboration with other eng-teams to build modular / reusable react native components
  • Experience with REST APIs
  • Cross functional collaboration with product, design, and operations to conceptualize, develop, and launch new features
  • Play an active role in mentoring and career development of other engineers
  • Raise the bar for technical standards, performance, reliability, and overall code quality
  • We’re looking for teammates who have:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 year working with React Native(or heavy React and iOS development experience)
  • Experience building a well-designed mobile/web app
  • Ability to choose a test-driven approach and write code in a way that lends itself to testing
  • A bias for building your way out of a problem
  • Bonus Points:
  • Experience working on native mobile apps
  • You love delighting customers with honest, transparent products and experiences
  • Domain knowledge and/or interest in real estate
  • Experience with GraphQL
