Reporting to the Manager of DevOps Operations, the DevOps engineer plays an important role in development operations at PointClickCare. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the larger DevOps organization to support engineering and development resources with tooling and systems requirements for a variety of projects. We are seeking individuals with experience and capability to thrive in a changing environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and the automation of daily operational activities.
PointClickCare is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to assist in our efforts to migrate applications in to the cloud. This position is ideal for someone who understands the cloud native approach to application deployment and is passionate about DevOps.
Work within a cross-functional team of DevOps Architects, Developers and Analysts with the objective of migrating pcc applications and solutions to Azure and Amazon Web Services.
Design and orchestrate project deployments to cloud and dedicated server infrastructure
Provision and support various environments used during the development lifecycle.
Perform and support software installations and upgrades.
Contribute to DevOps and inter-departmental initiatives to maintain or improve system availability, security, and performance.
Evaluate new technologies and identify infrastructure needs for deployment environments.
Work with the team to create and maintain support documentation, as well as participate in cross training with other team members.
Debug issues with minimal supervision.
Support existing solutions and assist in the resolution of hard to solve problems.
Proactively work on assigned tasks and task areas, while managing support tasks and priorities.
Good hands-on experience in a DevOps or System Administration role.
Experience with virtualization and container solutions is strongly preferred. (ie. , Docker, Kubernetes (must have), Istio, Envoy, Software load balancing (like Nginx, HAProxy), Docker, Azure, AWS).
Experience working with configuration management and deployment automation tools like Chef, Puppet or Ansible.
Experience within operations, administering both Window (2003/2008/2012) and Linux machines.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle with experience working in QA and beta environments.
Degree in Computer/Software Engineering or a related area from a recognized educational institution.
Experience working with Azure cloud infrastructure and services is strongly preferred.
