About the Role
Our DevTool team focuses on improving developer velocity through tooling and automation. As DevTool engineer, you will work on a range of tools, infrastructure and services - new and existing - with an aim to efficiently solve problems and deliver practical, maintainable and scalable solutions.
Our tech stack includes modern DevOps tooling like Docker, Kubernetes, Salt, Python, Jenkins, Github CI and the usual Unix/Linux tools and workflows.
Reliability, performance and developer experience are critical factors to our CI/CD pipeline which you will help monitor, operate, and improve/optimize.
We are looking for someone who is self-directed, independent, passionate about new technologies.
What You’ll Do
Building release automation(CI/CD): Analyze, design and develop automation processes and tools to deliver Houzz’s core products into cloud platforms using containerization technologies such as Docker, VM and etc, along with CI tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker. Tooling to help developers’s productivity: git hooks, code review workflow, development flow for Houzz engineer teamTooling to provide Infrastructure security and resource managementBuilding center quality monitoring infrastructure to help the product qualityMaintain and support in house CI platforms (Github, Jenkins, and in house services)Evaluate new technologies and continue to evolve the tooling infrastructure
At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experienceKnowledge of two or more mainstream programming languages (Python, PHP, Java, Shell)Highly proficient with modern Unix/Linux operating systems/distributionsExperience with CI/CD, containers and/or virtualization, Jenkins, Github CI flows2+ years professional experience
