Wish is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead and represent one of our exceptional business units and unite team members to drive Wish’s continued innovation and success. You will help to craft our vision and make it a reality through creative engineering and identifying required solutions to hard problems.

The Senior Manager, Engineering will have the unique opportunity to provide engineering partnership and product outcomes across multiple large scale initiatives in the Data and Relevancy Engineering Org. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and be able to move from ideation, to experimentation, and finally to production through iteration, while maintaining high levels of code quality. This role will require good project management skill, strong experience in designing and building complex software systems and excellent full stack technical depth.  
What you will do:
  • Evangelize and represent your team, their vision, strategy and results to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage Engineering processes, workflows and schedules to support multiple high impact business initiatives
  • Address high priority needs to grow current offering, while bringing operational excellence as our platform matures
  • Lead and be highly involved in the evolution of a diverse engineering team capable of rapid iteration & delivery of technical solutions in an “incubator” style environment
  • Actively collaborate with business teams and product managers on product iterations
  • Support engineering team by removing obstacles establishing best practices to increase productivity and ensure your team produces extraordinary output
  • Set clear direction for the team, anticipating scaling-related challenges through thoughtful and strategic planning 
  • Develop and nurture a positive and collaborative culture that embodies Wish’s values
  • Coach and mentor team and support professional development and growth
  • Who you are:
  • Highly collaborative leader with a desire to stay close to the code
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, directly managing 5 or more people
  • 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
  • Experience in building large scale complex systems and projects
  • Proven experience scaling and managing multi-level engineering team
  • Demonstrated software engineering methodology- well thought out opinions about code quality and the ability to make sound decisions on deliverables
  • Inspired by the mission of helping underserved consumers and small retailers thrive in a global, mobile first economy
  • Ability to drive cross-functional stakeholder buy-in across multiple internal functions
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics or related field, with higher degree considered an asset
